JW Marriott Hotel, Shenzhen Qianhai Snow World
Project Description
Shenzhen Qianhai Snow World aims to establish an "urban living room"
in the Greater Bay Area, destined to become a new landmark in Shenzhen.
Themed as the “Bay Area Polar Region, World Ice City,” it intends to blend
recreation with luxury.
The multi-faceted development includes Asia's longest indoor ski slope
(600m long), a premium 5 Star Hotel, a contemporary Mall, the innovative
Funmix semi-outdoor Retail, and a state-of-the-art Diving Centre, catering
to a diverse range of activities and interests.
Situated in Shenzhen, in the heart of Northern Airport New Town, the site
adjoins the picturesque Sea Rural Tourism Area, offering an idyllic setting for
this multifaceted development. This location was chosen for its accessibility
and scenic backdrop, perfect for a project aiming to be a recreational hub.
The location of the JW Marriott Hotel at the base of the ski slope was
commended for its strategic thinking. This placement not only enhances the
accessibility and convenience for visitors but also contributes to the
cohesive layout of the development. The proximity of these facilities to each
other fosters a synergistic relationship, enriching the overall visitor
experience.
JW Marriott Hotel is thoughtfully located at the base of the ski slope,
offering guests unparalleled convenience and access. This strategic
positioning serves a dual purpose: firstly, it allows hotel guests to transition
directly from their accommodations to the ski slope without the need to exit
the building, providing a seamless and comfortable experience. Secondly,
the hotel acts as a gateway entrance to the entire project, welcoming visitors
into this magnificent development. Additionally, the hotel is designed to
offer stunning panoramic views, with rooms and communal areas oriented
to overlook the ski slope and the surrounding Greater Bay Area, providing
guests with an immersive visual experience that connects them with both
the excitement of the slope and the beauty of the greater bay area.
The design of the hotel's façade blends harmoniously with the overall
architectural language of the project. The clean and powerful vertical lines
ensure a striking proportion of the tower, standing in contrast to the top of
the ski slope at the northern and southern ends of the site, defining the
overall skyline of the project. The vertical lines, arranged parallel along the
standard floors of the tower, converge and blend into a larger line in the
lobby area, further enhancing the transparency of the lobby. The façade of
the tower gradually transitions at the crown, providing shading for the
rooftop restaurant and bar while enveloping the core shaft and equipment
on the roof
