Hejing Mansion

by Xu Jian

Project Description

This project is based on the Italian "old money style", abandoning complex decoration and returning to the authenticity of materials and order of scale. Through the integration of natural travertine, warm woodwork, and artistic paint texture, a contemporary home sanctuary with a low-key elegance and relaxed yet measured atmosphere is constructed. The space not only carries the warmth of daily life but also accommodates social attributes, presenting a high-end quality that is not ostentatious but immersive.
With the dining and living area as the core, the home's circulation is reshaped through material zoning, furniture enclosure, and soft division. The optimized layout achieves a natural transition between living, socializing, and dining functions, ensuring a sense of spaciousness while balancing privacy and practicality.
Bedroom area: The dark color palette creates an immersive atmosphere, with wall lamps on both sides enhancing a sense of symmetry and ritual. The wet bar coexists with a wardrobe divided by a silver handle, which also serves as a line divider for the cabinet, combining functionality with decoration.
Living and social area: The sofa background wall adopts a horizontal section with the golden ratio, with embedded copper strips running through the entire wall, cleverly concealing the doors to the children's room and bathroom. Bookcases are interspersed with copper strips to divide and minimize door gaps, creating a visually clean and unified appearance. A 100-inch TV and B&O wall-mounted speakers provide an immersive audio-visual experience.
Kitchen island area: The bottom of the island is recessed 20cm, suitable for medium and high bar chairs, enhancing comfort of use; the rounded corners optimize the flow of people, avoiding a rigid feel; the ambient lighting at the bottom casts downward, creating a warm dining atmosphere. The island can be combined with a round table, achieving a retractable design.
Entrance renovation area: Utilize the original load-bearing columns to wrap natural travertine, and apply both glossy and matte finishes to the same column, creating a subtle contrast in tactile and visual senses.
Multi-functional office bar area: transformed from the original bathroom, it integrates a steam oven and a direct drinking machine around the travertine load-bearing column, forming a large circulation line that efficiently connects the kitchen and office functions.
III. Material and Technological Innovation: The bar counter is recessed 20cm inward: This design frees up space for the legs and, when paired with medium-to-high bar chairs, enhances the actual comfort of use.
Island counter with recessed design + skirting lighting: The bottom features a recessed design, casting light downwards to create a soft atmosphere during gatherings.
Four-corner arc transition: The four right angles of the island platform are all rounded to enhance safety and spatial fluidity.
Golden Ratio Division + Copper Bar Inlay: The sofa background wall features a horizontal golden ratio cut, with embedded copper bars running through, enhancing order and sophistication. Travertine Dual Craftsmanship: On the same load-bearing column, both smooth and textured travertine surfaces coexist, creating a dialogue of material expressions. Wood Veneer Recess Interspersion: The high cabinet wood veneer features recessed dark interspersion, enhancing the "breathability" of the space and avoiding dullness. Wardrobe Silver Handle: The handle also serves as a dividing line for the cabinet door, unifying function and form. Translucent Luxury Stone in the Master Bedroom: Special craftsmanship allows the stone to emit a soft light at night, without disturbing others' rest, creating a serene atmosphere. Hidden Door Design: Through the interspersion of bookcases and copper bar division, the door gaps between the children's room and the bathroom are minimized, maintaining the integrity of the wall surface.
IV. Brand and Furniture Selection: B&O: Wall-mounted sound system; Flos: Chandelier; Poliform: Furniture; Chuanshi: Single chair at the end of the hallway in the master bedroom; Xavier Lebee: Double-door bronze handle in the master bedroom; Each individual item injects a restrained and enduring artistic power into the space.
V. Conclusion: Hejing Mansion is not a mere accumulation of symbols for luxury, but a meticulous control over proportion, material, and light. The golden ratio and circular arc treatment are integrated throughout, making every turn gentle and approachable, and every inch of the interface worthy of scrutiny. This is a contemporary residence where the body and mind can fully relax, and life can unfold with ease.
