Project Description
Guided by the concept of “interwoven layers of time and space,” this project infuses Neo-American aesthetics with a touch of vintage nostalgia.To address the prominent beams and overlapping circulation in the 172-sqm residence, a floating double-sided marble partition serves as the spatial anchor. It visually defines the living room while integrating entrance storage, clearly zoning areas without blocking sightlines. A sweeping curved ceiling elevates the visual focus, effectively softening structural weight.
Initiated during the shell-and-core stage, the design prioritizes the preservation of the central atrium to harness cascading natural light that connects the shifting shadows across the three-story staircase. The first floor features a bright and atmospheric Neo-American style, accented by a deep navy blue - the female owner's favorite. This signature blue becomes the protagonist on the third floor, where it pairs with arched doorways and aluminum-framed glass doors. Integrating the atrium's ethereal light, this area serves as a curated exhibition stage for the male owner’s art collection, making it the couple’s most cherished sanctuary.
The sofa back wall features Morandi-navy blue paneling paired with warm wall sconces, creating a refined, enveloping focal point. The TV wall is supported by spherical structures with recessed shelving, transforming heavy stone into a sculptural, light element. Material contrasts are carefully layered: from the wooden stair railing and black-mirror kitchen cabinets to the living room’s stone and textiles, building extraordinary tactile depth.
A foundation of Ultimate Gray and Pearl White is punctuated by deep blue, creating a sophisticated, layered modern aesthetic.Lighting combines a circular crystal chandelier with cove and cabinet-base LED strips. Sheer curtains diffuse natural daylight, allowing it to interact with artificial sources and reveal material textures throughout the day. Avoiding excessive ornamentation, the design relies on proportion, crafted joints, and light control to create a refined, enduring residence that harmonizes social hosting with everyday warmth.
