YUN BANQUET

by Jason

Projet Description

The canal water system runs from north to south and has flowed through large and small cities for thousands of years, passing through streets and alleys, connecting the people and culture.
957 Yun Banquet is located in the Hangzhou section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, adjacent to the historic district of the canal. The canal water is the soul of the canal culture and runs through all dining spaces. The unique layout of the dining hall is like a boat running in the water. Dinners enjoy the local canal cuisine with the starry ceiling and surroundings filled with canal culture.
For thousands of years, with the continuous development and continuation of human civilization, people on both sides of the canal have sought urban development while trying to preserve history. There is always coexistence and humility between the modern city and the ancient Chinese culture, such as grey tile dwellings wrapped in reinforced concrete, and the remaining bluestone path in the high-rise buildings. In this case, the modern materials such as high-definition LED screen, stained glass, and mirror stainless steel combined with old stone and wood, and the embellishment of famous calligraphy and painting and the bonsai. The traditional Chinese color of 'carmine' is the keynote and contrasts with the color of 'cyanine'. While the two colors have a visual impact, they also use the 'crow blue' color as a neutralization. As depicted in the famous painting "A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains", they are full of changes and highly decorative.
Jiangnan means the south of the Yangtze River and is famous for its fine gentle characteristic with a long ancient rhyme. It depicts different stories every four seasons. People maintain time-sensitivity toward food because they want to taste the cuisine from their childhood during the time flows. They waved their hands to restore the hometown dishes that accompanied each other day and night in their memories, and they also stepped forward to find new flavors. Home-cooked taste always composes old memories. In the land south of the Yangtze River, food is like the Yangtze River, never stagnant, and so is the design.
