Tokyo Venture Capital Hub

Tokyo Venture Capital Hub (TVCH) is a members-only workplace and community hub designed for Japan’s venture capital ecosystem, located within Azabudai Hills in Tokyo.
Inspired by Azabudai Hills’ vision of a “Modern Urban Village,” the project was conceived not as a conventional office, but as a place where investors can meet, exchange ideas, and cultivate new opportunities. The ambition was to translate the venture capital ecosystem itself into a spatial experience.
The 4th floor, titled “ROOF & WALL,” was designed as a workplace for focused daily activities. Rather than creating a collection of enclosed private offices, a series of roofs and walls loosely define individual spaces while maintaining visual and spatial continuity. Gaps between these volumes allow people, light, and views to flow throughout the floor, creating a sense of connection across the workplace. A circulating layout organizes different zones and ways of working into a unified spatial landscape. Natural daylight and a low-contrast material palette establish a refined yet comfortable atmosphere for everyday use.
The 5th floor, titled “NEST,” functions as the social heart of the community. Drawing inspiration from the modular and organic architectural language of Heatherwick Studio’s Azabudai Hills, the interior extends the architectural identity of the building into the communal spaces. The floor is divided into multiple areas to accommodate both large-scale events and daily activities, while glass partitions maintain visual connectivity throughout. In contrast to the daylight-oriented workplace below, indirect lighting and layered shadows create a more intimate and social atmosphere, encouraging interaction, dialogue, and collaboration.
Together, “ROOF & WALL” and “NEST” form complementary environments that balance focus and exchange, work and community, day and night. By integrating these contrasting qualities, the project creates a spatial framework that supports the everyday life of the venture capital community.
Tokyo Venture Capital Hub is not simply an office project. It is an attempt to spatialize Japan’s venture capital community within one of Tokyo’s most ambitious new urban developments.
