Project overview
The Children's Science and Technology Exploration Center of Quanzhou Cultural Park is a key sub project in the first phase of the Xiyang County "One Old and One Young" Friendly City Enhancement and Construction Project to revitalize and reuse existing idle commercial assets. The original site was the three story Quanzhou Red Hotel, which was built in 2010 and closed in 2020. The renovation plan and construction began in 2023, and construction began in March 2024. It has now been put into operation.
The Center includes an indoor parent-child theme hall with a built-up area of 5050 square meters, and an outdoor amusement park and landscape supporting area of 13600 square meters. Plan to build an indoor and outdoor comprehensive The Center that integrates learning, playing, eating, and shopping, and promote the construction of a "One Old and One Young" Friendly City in Xiyang's new urbanization.
Features and Highlights
In terms of indoor renovation, the first floor exploration park combines movement and stillness through physical and intellectual training, simulation games, scientific and educational experiences, theater performances, and other forms to meet the diverse extracurricular entertainment needs of children of different ages, cultivate and enhance their comprehensive abilities, and provide a fun and educational playground for children in Xiyang that is not affected by seasons. The second floor is a space themed parent-child restaurant, equipped with a young children's entertainment area and a children's exploration center. It is an important supporting space that combines education with entertainment, providing children with green and healthy energy supply. The outdoor renovation part extends the indoor activity space to the outside, using painted circular landscape walls to meet the needs of science popularization, better supplementing the outdoor children's activity space, and providing children with a comprehensive one-stop short distance exploration destination. A space themed outdoor amusement park is set up on the southern terrace, with the overall design inspired by spacecraft and planets, aiming to create an outdoor children's exploration center and provide children with an educational and entertaining science fiction exploration theme park.
In addition, the design team researched the local cultural characteristics of the project, shaped an exclusive IP image, and optimized the design of the space. At the same time, the IP exclusive image was interspersed in the indoor and outdoor science, education, and entertainment experience areas, and was activated and utilized in various investment spaces to enhance spatial vitality and secondary revenue, making the project more flexible in terms of business format and better revitalizing idle commercial assets.
Impact and Value
The Children's Science and Technology Exploration Center of the Whole Week Cultural Park is a major measure to implement the overall idea of "11365", and also an important action to build a "One Old and One Young" Friendly City. It is of great significance to attract more parent-child families for leisure and entertainment, help cultural tourism enable the construction of new urbanization, and promote Chinese path to modernization in Xiyang.
