Warm Sunshine and the Peaceful Zen

by Shibui design atelier

Project Description

This interior design project pertains to the planning of a private residence that has been in existence for over half a century. The designer has utilized the "Zen" philosophy as the overarching theme of the space, using smooth lines, simple blocks, warm colors, and textured materials to construct the space. The reflection of the light source has been incorporated into the design to complement the space and to create a serene and peaceful atmosphere. The designer also takes into account the storage needs of the occupants. To provide ample storage space without compromising the overall simplicity and comfort of the space, the designer has employed a minimalist approach to the layout of the space, skillfully concealing the storage functions to create a practical and aesthetically pleasing environment that maximizes the use of the available space. The result is a space that embodies the beauty of Zen charm while also being highly functional.
Upon entering the space, you'll notice the inviting and cozy feel created by the warm earth colors that adorn the walls. The open-plan design of the living room, kitchen, and study areas creates a seamless flow of movement, making the space feel larger and more open. The study area is equipped with a glass sliding door that can be adjusted according to the user's needs, providing a level of flexibility that is essential in any modern living space.
One of the standout features of the space is the storage display wall, which is a thoughtful and practical addition that allows residents to keep track of their belongings. The wall is designed to provide easy access to items while avoiding clutter and over-consumption of goods. In addition to the storage wall, each area is equipped with basic storage cabinets, ensuring that there is ample space to keep things organized and tidy.
In the private living space, the bedroom is designed with relaxation and comfort in mind. The warm colors create a soothing atmosphere that is perfect for winding down after a long day. The room benefits from natural light coming from two sides, creating a peaceful and stable environment that promotes restful sleep. Overall, this space is a perfect blend of functionality, comfort, and style. The open-plan layout, storage display wall, and thoughtful design touches make it a practical and inviting living space that is perfect for modern living.
This innovative project is committed to creating a living environment that is both comfortable and healthy, while also being sustainable. To achieve this, the designers have implemented a subtractive approach to space planning, which allows for a more efficient use of resources. Additionally, environmentally friendly building materials have been chosen as the main materials to minimize the impact of construction on the environment.
The designers have taken great care to precisely determine the use of building materials, ensuring that there is no over-consumption of resources. As a result, the building has been constructed with eco-friendly mineral coatings that serve as wall decorative materials. These coatings play an important role in balancing the humidity of the environment by absorbing excessive moisture in the air. This not only promotes a healthier living space, but also helps to reduce the need for energy-intensive air conditioning.
Moreover, the building has been designed with external windows in both shared and private living areas, allowing natural light to enter the room and create a bright and comfortable environment. This reduces the need for artificial lighting during the day, which leads to significant energy savings and reduced carbon emissions. Overall, this project represents a bold and innovative approach to sustainable design, and serves as a model for environmentally conscious construction practices.
