The Construction of Vines
Project Description
Taking an orthogonal geometric framework as its substrate, this work translates the natural logic of vine growth into continuous non-linear components. These elements intervene in the established structure through entanglement, interpenetration, and interweaving. Rather than a figurative imitation of natural forms, the piece serves as an abstract interpretation of the behavior of growth. By tentatively spreading within structural interstices and boundaries, it manifests a dynamic tension between control and uncontrol. Ultimately, the work proposes an open paradigm of tectonics: architecture should not be a closed, rational container, but rather a field capable of accommodating growth, difference, and unpredictability. This serves as a metaphor for the process by which individuals expand the boundaries of order within established systems, endowing static structures with dynamic vitality.
I channel my passion for art into my design practice. My years of experience in painting have equipped me with the ability to express myself fluently through diverse visual languages. At the same time, I firmly believe that the breadth of design stems from the depth of life. This is why I explore materials and structures through handicrafts, and cultivate narrative and empathy through reading novels. These cross-disciplinary explorations have collectively shaped my multidimensional design perspective, driving me to create works that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also rich in storytelling.
