Songxiangli Hotel

Located in Yichun, the Forest Capital of Heilongjiang Province, a renowned tourist resort famed as China’s Natural Oxygen Bar, this hotel project draws endless inspiration from local misty forest landscapes. Guided by the design tenet of embracing natural gifts and mountain wilderness vibes, the scheme fully leverages Yichun’s dual features—abundant negative oxygen ions and fog-shrouded woods—to craft an immersive misty natural sanctuary.
The design captures authentic wild woodland aromas: pine needles soaked in morning dew, warm glowing fires burning dry branches, and faint wisps of cooking smoke. Instead of elaborate decorative clutter, it anchors the hotel’s core identity in unadulterated mountain scents, delivering a quiet luxury escape where guests stay surrounded by nature’s pure essence. Inside, mountain fragrances fill every room, calming visitors and isolating them from urban noise. Blending mild woody warmth and fresh pine mist, the space creates an exclusive wild luxury retreat that balances temperature, scent and natural tranquility.
Adopting contemporary design vocabularies to reinterpret oriental aesthetics, the project centers on the core concept of harmonious coexistence with nature, laying an ecologically integrated spatial foundation. Systematic green landscapes are thoughtfully integrated throughout the layout, injecting liveliness and serenity while boosting indoor biodiversity and microclimate quality. Guests perceive nature’s vitality via sight and touch within this breathable eco-space. Minimal artificial intervention is adopted to let natural elements act as dynamic, living spatial components, fulfilling the goal of balanced coexistence between architecture and wilderness.
Sustainable material strategies stand as another core pillar, pairing primitive eco-materials with low-carbon modern alternatives. Raw natural stone, solid log and traditional clay require minimal industrial processing, cutting manufacturing energy consumption and pollution. Complementary recycled, low-carbon modern materials reduce resource waste, while handcrafted textures limit reliance on high-energy mechanical processing.
Rooted in harmonious natural coexistence, this design embeds green and sustainable concepts across four dimensions: embedded ecological elements, blended eco-friendly materials, low-energy sensory atmosphere and long-term ecological balance. It weaves environmental sustainability into a narrative merging traditional charm and modern minimalism, ultimately striking a three-way balanced harmony of profound heritage, modern vitality and everlasting natural ecology.
