RES Women’s Hanpu Dehumidifying Wear
Project Description
RES is a clothing design proposal that weaves together Eastern wellness culture, sustainable performance fabrics, and contemporary female lifestyle aesthetics. The design addresses a real and persistent discomfort faced by women in Asia's humid climates, stuffiness, stickiness, and odor, rethinking the relationship between functional apparel and everyday life.
Unlike conventional performance wear built for sports, RES focuses on comfort, emotional experience, and lifestyle aesthetics in daily wear. It brings functional design naturally into the context of urban living.
The garment uses shell-tex™ ESG sustainable performance fabric. Discarded oyster shells are calcined into nano-powder and combined with recycled plastic bottles to create 100% regenerated fibers—achieving a seamless integration of environmental responsibility and functionality. The oyster shell powder gives the fabric a naturally crisp handfeel, while a specialized weave enhances snag resistance. The high-temperature calcination process provides antibacterial and deodorizing properties, complemented by a 3M treatment for improved moisture-wicking. The fabric structure ensures breathability and quick drying, while the oyster shell powder also delivers UV protection and anti-static performance.
The design is built on a pure black-and-white palette. A softly tailored H-shaped silhouette balances functionality with everyday wearability. Minimalist, decoration-free lines and soft cutting allow the piece to transition seamlessly between commuting, home, and light sports. The restrained profile and color language embody an Eastern aesthetic of subtraction, revealing a sense of lightness and grace.
RES aims to break the stereotype that functional clothing belongs only in sports, making it a natural part of modern women's daily lives. More than a garment, it is a proposition for health, sustainability, and lifestyle, exploring new possibilities for Asian women's lifestyle brands through the fusion of culture, technology, and sustainable concepts.
