Project Description
This project is the second store of Hangzhou Pioneer Buyer brand mirage25--mirage25 atelier, located in the street side store on Zhongshan Middle Road, Shangcheng District, Hangzhou. It is a comprehensive retail store mainly for clothing, and has multiple functions such as coffee and art exhibition space. The project site is a century-old mansion, with two floors and a total area of about 1800㎡. In line with the principle of historical preservation, the original brick walls, tiles, and wooden beams have all been retained. Tracing back to the essence of the building, the marks of time are evident in this ancient residence. "Simplify to the core, but do not strip away its charm; keep it clean and pure without robbing it of its vitality." Adhering to this concept, a systematic study was conducted on the parts of the mansion that should be preserved and restored. When old and new elements are juxtaposed, they blend harmoniously yet remain distinct. The facade of the building has abandoned the original gray brick material and used sandstone recombination and splicing to create a dense rather than permeable texture.
