Project Description

Sometimes, good design isn’t about what you add— It’s about what you’re willing to take away.
In this project, we sacrificed a guest bedroom to achieve the full potential of the spacious living space. By doing so, light and air flow can more freely, and the urban skyline outside becomes an everyday backdrop within the home.
We redefined the whole apartment's layout and function, combining the structural beam into part of the design feature. Wrapped in wood and subtly segmented, the ceiling now ripples with rhythm—softening the visual weight of the ceiling height and naturally delineating different zones of daily life.
Inspired by the Japanese sensibility, the color palette weaves together using muted wood tones, off-whites, and warm grays, forming a calming space. Every corner of this open plan continues the spirit of stillness and simplicity. From the entryway, delicate wood slats and soft geometric floor tiling gently guide you into the inner sanctuary of the home.
The dining area and tea sitting are relocated to the window sill — creating a conversation between life, formality and intimacy. As you lounge back, the light filtering in feels both ceremonial and comfortingly familiar.
We believe good design isn’t just about aesthetics—it should align with the rhythm of life. In this particular project, we spoke in the language of subtraction. We gave the space back to life itself, allowing every breath and quiet pause to be gently held by the architecture.
