CASALIBERA

In a small town in Liguria, in Recco, stands a 55 sqm flat with a curious name: Casalibera.
The name is a play on words between the patrons’ surname, and the almost total absence of walls inside the flat.
Casalibera is a project based on subtraction.
The clients, a young and dynamic couple, wanted to free up space, creating a large and bright environment in which natural light could flow freely.
Before the intervention, the house was characterised by a traditional layout, with a living area separated from the sleeping area. The intervention completely overturned this layout, creating a single, fluid space in which the kitchen, living room and dining area merge together.
The purity of the spaces is reflected in the materials and colours.
The floor is completely in resin and rises above the walls, creating a bathtub effect in a pastel powder colour, which highlights the white walls, creating an elegant and refined ambience.
The bedroom is separated from the entrance by a filter, physical but not spatial. The filter consists of a glass wall with a plinth that acts as a bookcase on both spaces, allowing light to filter through and containing furniture in the same way.
Casalibera is the realisation of a dream.
The clients wanted a home that was free of constraints and reflected their personality and lifestyle.
