Project Description
Galeriah House
The Galeriah House is located on a 100% flat plot near the Paraíba River in the city of São José dos Campos – SP | Brazil.
It was designed for a couple who, with the arrival of the pandemic, felt the need to enjoy the outdoor spaces that a residence can provide. Architect Priscila Pereira accompanied the clients from the moment they chose the land.
All the peculiarities of the couple were taken into account in the conception of the program of the house.
As a result, we have a gym on the second floor, overlooking a green preservation area, which is connected to the main suite of the house and, through a helical staircase, also connects with leisure environments such as sauna and swimming pool on the ground floor.
The house also has two other suites to accommodate the couple's children and nephews, and a gallery space (which gives the house its name) as a multipurpose space, with walls free of openings and interferences dedicated to the exhibition of the couple's arts and private pieces.
The house has projections that escape from right angles, with openings arranged internally, giving the façade a unique plasticity, totally sculptural and minimalist.
All internal rooms open to the leisure area that has a generously proportioned swimming pool.
The internal openings for leisure, facing west, have a second skin in several aluminum brise modules, which provides an internal façade in constant movement and guarantees privacy to the bedrooms even when their frames are open.
The first module, in a coffee hue, represented by Cosentino's industrial dekton radium, comprises the arrival area for residents and visitors. Upon arrival, there is a transition to a linear module with a light and soft tone, where Cosentino's dekton aeris covers internal and external floors, swimming pool and countertops.
There is a minimal variation of finishing materials throughout the space, which contributes to the experience between fluid spaces and demarcated only by the arrangement of the furniture.
