White Blue
Project Description
The project involves the construction of the Nanwan Country Park (including a Tourist Management Center and supporting public buildings) located in Longgang District, Shenzhen. The total planned area of the project is 1,368,200 m². This country park prioritizes ecological protection and restoration, featuring natural water bodies and mountains. It is designed for outdoor relaxation, offering opportunities to experience the wilderness of mountains and forests. The park will integrate activities such as mountaineering, sightseeing, fitness, leisure, and natural ecological education. The overall layout of the project consists of "one center, two rings, three zones, and six nodes." The public facilities are designed to enhance the spiritual landscape while providing convenient service functions.
The setting of architectural scenes is closely related to interpersonal relationships. Different design fields and the handling of design details can easily affect people's inner world. The use of color is our preferred strategy. White symbolizes justice, purity, dignity and decompression, and also represents youth and vitality. Our design can directly provide emotional value to citizens through the white color of the building body, and quickly release the sense of being trapped in the high pressure of Shenzhen. Combined with partial blue and wood interior embellishments, we hope that citizens are willing to stay here, even for a second of self-purification and return to nature.
The Visitor Management Center is built by the water. The white aluminum plate exterior and blue glass complement each other with the sparkling water patterns. Standing on the viewing terrace, you can enjoy the lake view of the park and the tranquility of the surrounding mountains and green fields. The semi-open functional area and streamlined design make the Visitor Management Center more inclusive, representing the friendly, open and accepting urban character. "Once you come here, you are a Shenzhener." You can always find a quiet space of your own here. The Visitor Management Center has an activity lobby, service center, emergency rescue room, forest protection security room, forest fire duty room, multi-function room and public toilets, etc. It is a node landmark building of the Nanwan Country Park project.
The S-shaped public restroom located in the middle of the mountain is a design practice that maximizes utilization and adaptability to the site environment. The project uses intensive spatial techniques to complete a fully functional design including male's room, female's room, accessible toilet and baby care room to meet the needs of different groups of people while maximizing the balance between project cost and design aesthetics. White is also the theme color of the building. The S-shape looks like a silver snake entwining the mountains, with a sweeping view of the mountains. We hope to use creative design techniques to reshape the site environment and continue to help citizens relieve low-pressure emotions, release themselves, and find themselves while walking on the plank road.
In summary, the project uses simple and atmospheric white as the main line, hoping to create a new spiritual fortress and more places suitable for the soul in Shenzhen, an immigrant city with a fast pace of life and high pressure. The project hopes to discuss whether people's collective unconscious emotions are cared for in a super city model with rapid urbanization like Shenzhen, and what we can do as designers. We hope that you will feel bright when you see our work, deconstruct yourself, release pressure, and seek a positive correlation model with mental health under rapid economic growth.
